This 5-week course provides a methodical introduction to the Buddhist underpinnings of mindfulness for yoga asana teachers who would like to bring mindfulness into their teaching appropriately, with confidence, and with understanding of lineage. (This workshop will also benefit any dedicated yoga asana practitioner.)
In addition to dharma, meditation, and discussion, the course includes yin/mindfulness practices to demonstrate techniques for layering somatic and Buddhist mindfulness methods (as well as to have a nourishing embodied experience).
Also included is a presentation on the relationship of yoga and Buddhism, which can be studied at depth through other programs, and a reading and discussion of the Satipatthana Sutta.
