In 1:1 coaching sessions, we undertake yoga, mindfulness meditation, and related practices to support healing and growth amidst the stress of your present life challenges.
Why Work 1:1? Whether you are a busy professional, family caretaker, or a yoga teacher seeking mentorship, working 1:1 can open up new and deeper pathways to self-awareness, healing, and growth. You may enjoy the benefits of 1:1 sessions if you are:
Struggling withsleep, rumination, overwork, unhealthy boundaries, or harshinner critics
Dealing with chronic illness, grief, or loss, and interested in managing emotions and/or creating meaning
Wondering how body-based processing of psychological material complements existing talk therapy
Developing a self-led yoga and/or meditation practice to address specific conditions or circumstances
Seeking mentoring for making mind-body practices a regular part of life, and developing spiritually
What's a Session Like? Sarah Jane does not offer a standard practice prescription. By listening to your circumstances and goals, and following cues from your body and nervous system, she customizes sessions to offer support for growth from the traditions in which she has trained and continues to study. Sessions may include:
Sharing circumstances that feel charged or uncomfortable
Tuning into inner chatter with an internal family systems view
Choosing methods and setting an intention for a practice
Practicing breathwork, yin or yang yoga, or mindful movement
Meditating on the body, heart, or mind, for inner insight
Using compassion and gratitude meditations as self-care
Discussing books and other resources to support your journey
Format, Fees, and Policies A common format for 1:1 coaching in yoga and meditation is once weekly for an hour. However, some clients prefer to start with twice-weekly sessions, and/or can more easily fit shorter sessions into their schedules.
Other clients like longer sessions for deeper work, and some eventually move toward alternate weekly or monthly or check-ins.
It's important to arrange to meet for a period of time and for session lengths that work well with your practice intention, schedule, and budget.
